Grande Prairie is a vibrant young community with numerous outdoor activities and a growing number of cultural interests.  Whatever your interests are there is something here for everyone.  Here are a few links to various organizations, business and stuff we love or find interesting!  Send us a note if we have missed something you think should make our list of favorites.

Outdoor Pursuits

Wapiti Nordic Ski Club:  A great ski and run trail system just outside the city.
Nighthawk Recreation Area:  Downhill skiing, summer biking, tubing and more.
Grande Prairie Tourism Association:  Camping in and around Grande Prairie.
Wapiti White Water Kayakers:  Cool club.  I haven’t tried it yet but it is on my list!

Arts and Culture

Grande Prairie Live Theatre:  Yes!  Live Theatre too!
Library:  The library is an amazing building.  And it has tonnes of books!
Art Gallery:  Lots of cool shows.
Centre for Creative Arts:  Learn to be creative in any medium.

Recreation

Community Connections:  Most sports clubs, activities and classes can be found here.
East Link Center:  Huge indoor pool, indoor courts and gym.
Crosslink Center: Massive sports plex with soccer pitch, arenas and gym.
Philip J. Currie Dino Museum:  Because everyone likes dinosaurs.

Unique Shops

Propeller & Co.:  Great shop with a lot of unique clothes.

Our Favorite Eats

Guerino’s Italian Kitchen:  Behind BMO on Westsyde Drive.  Family meal for $40.
Busters Pizza:  We like it.
The Chopped Leaf:  When you need a veggie fix.
Lions Den Pub:  Perfect for friends and some laughs.
Jax Grill & Lounge:  When your taste buds demand more.
Acropolis:  Greek!  A little bit pricey but something different and not a chain!
